Magdalena Health Center
The Magdalena Health Center’s new building is designed to provide modern healthcare services in a welcoming environment focused on patient comfort. The architecture emphasizes functionality, sustainability, and integration with the landscape. It includes examination rooms, treatment areas, and spaces for community health programs, aiming to improve healthcare delivery. The design incorporates natural light and green spaces for an enhanced experience for patients and staff.
Located at the southwestern edge of Magdalenski Park, the center completes the building block and creates new public spaces, such as benches, a drinking fountain, and a birch grove. The main entrance is positioned at the northwestern corner, offering access from both Jezdarska Street and the park. The design also considers future development along Žitna Street, which is congested and lined with important public institutions, with potential for the Taborska promenade.
The building’s facade combines solid and transparent sections, striking a balance between medical precision and humanity. This was recognized by the competition jury as a quality feature. The design prioritizes environmental aspects, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant experience for patients. Natural light and tactile materials were used throughout to create an inviting atmosphere.
