Hrastovec

The core of this ongoing project is the establishment of a modern Social Welfare Institution Hrastovec, encompassing 1,820 square meters of residential facilities. The design is specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals requiring specialized care. The innovative approach involves organizing the new building into a micro-urban settlement of “living communities.” These single-floor buildings symbolize the living units of family communities, strategically incorporated into a broader social structure of care. It serves as a pioneering example of the typology of single-unit design and family communities, illustrating the successful integration of individuals with mental disorders into public spaces.

The layout of the individual homes follows a thoughtful settlement concept, utilizing high-quality structured open spaces designed as a green park. Beyond aesthetics, sustainability is a key focus, with low-energy buildings predominantly constructed using wood, replacing more than 90% of conventional construction products. Each building is thoughtfully designed with a shared living space, five bedrooms, a designated area for medical staff, and three terraces that seamlessly connect the living spaces with surrounding gardens and the park.

In essence, this project goes beyond constructing physical structures; it aspires to create a supportive environment that fosters care, inclusivity, and sustainability.
